CUV-FL-DA Direct-attach Cuvette HolderCUV-FL-DA Direct-attach Cuvette Holder

The CUV-FL-DA Cuvette Holder attaches directly to Ocean Optics light sources and couples via SMA-terminated optical fibers to our spectrometers, creating an incredibly small-footprint spectrophotometric system for fluorescence and relative absorbance experiments. The CUV-FL-DA, optimized for UV-VIS-NIR (200-2000 nm) applications, holds 1-cm square cuvettes and is available for $461.

The CUV-FL-DA is especially useful for fluorescence measurements. Mirrored screw plugs strengthen the fluorescence signal. These reflection mirrors are UV-enhanced aluminum-coated for optimal signal reflection. One mirrored screw plug collects the fluorescence that would otherwise be lost. The second screw plug works to reflect the excitation energy back through the sample. Increased signal intensity is also a result of the CUV-FL-DA's direct attachment to the light source. With the CUV-FL-DA, users can obtain a much greater fluorescence intensity compared to signals obtained by using standard cuvette holders.

Also available is an adapter piece for linear variable filters that fits onto a cuvette holder to clamp the filter slide carriers into place. Ocean Optics cuvette holders can accommodate both single-filter and double-filter slide carriers. An optional black anodized aluminum cover can be used to eliminate ambient light and to block the light path when taking dark current measurements. The CUV-COVER is $30.

The CUV-FL-DA's  74-UV Collimating Lens collects light and funnels it to the fiber. Collection efficiency, spatial resolution, transmission angle and acceptance (or collection) angle are adjustable and easily optimized. The CUV-FL-DA is packaged with the collimating lens screwed on at a 90° angle from the light source for fluorescence measurements. However, the lens is removable and can be relocated for "straight-through" absorbance measurements.

The CUV-FL-DA also features spring-loaded ball plungers for precise positioning of the 1-cm path length cuvette, a built-in 6-mm filter slot with filter clamping screw and SMA 905 terminations for coupling to fiber optics. Two adapters allow the holder to be attached to any Ocean Optics light source.

"Z" Dimension

Cuvettes and cuvette holders offered by Ocean Optics have a "Z" dimension of 15 mm. Only the qpod has a Z dimension of 8.5 mm.
